As I sat there thismorning as the sun came up and the rock wallabies warmed themselves it was not hard to see that they are a very sociable animal. They would clean each other and just hug.

After a monumental struggle by the crayfish the mo

After a monumental struggle by the crayfish the monitor managed to get the tail turned around and began the swallowing process. The cray never gave up hope of escape and faught until he was no longer in sight but even then I could see movement in the monitors throat. In the end though the monitor had completed his meal, licked his lips a few times looked over at me as if to say "thats how its done" and then he slid back into the billabong.
As a side note, I had tried to catch some freshwater crays in my new trap the night before and never caught a thing..
